Middlesex County 60+ Meeting Minutes

 January 20, 2011

 

The following are the minutes of the Over 60 softball meeting held on 1/20/2011:

 

Actions - All items in BOLD require the action of the individual assigned

 

1 - It was agreed that the league would consolidate to 7 teams with 1 team getting a bye each week

 

2 - It was agreed that Vets 1, Vets 2 and Philips field would be the 3 fields used by the league

 

3 - It was agreed that the preseason practice games would start on 4/14/11 and run 2 weeks. The regular season would begin on Thursday 4/28/11.

 

4 - Each team would play every other team 3 times during the season. Rainouts would not be made up 

 

5 - Team Bannister would cease to exist and its remaining players would be added to the pool for reassignment to another team

     Bob H would contact the Bannister players to find out who wants to play in 2011 along with rating their skills level.

 

6 - All teams must present their team roster to the Executive board no later than 4/3/11 - all managers

 

7 - A general meeting for all softball players will be held at the OB library on Thursday March 3 at 7pm to finalize rosters, handle any open issues and take

     questions and comments from any team player. All managers are to notify their players about this meeting

 

8 - A schedule will be prepared and distributed to the executive board and managers for their review and then passed on to Lisa (OB Rec director along with all other needed paperwork) - Bob H

 

9 - Erin will be contacted for the needed paperwork to secure the rights to play on Philips field - Bob H

 

10 - It was agreed that during the playoffs no team may add substitute players to make up for a shortage of players on their roster in order to field a team.

 

11 - It was agreed that the team in first place at the end of the regular season would receive a bye for the first round of playoffs

 

12 - The purchase of 9 dozen softballs will be organized by Steve C

 

13 - Bob H & Frank K to meet mid February to arrange CC payment of tax to cover softball league requirements

 

14 - Frank K will arrange to collect checks from the "Over 70 league" and the "Tuesday morning Over 60 league" to be included in the submission of fees to pay insurance for the 3 leagues

 

15 - Vinnie will investigate and report the required fee per game from Lisa (Rec director)

 

16 - The following forms have been signed by the executive committee and will be submitted to Lisa once the schedule has been prepared WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK- Bob H

     Application for use of facilities

     Rules and Regulations for township fields/facilities

     Hold harmless agreement

 

17 - Bob H to obtain certificate of insurance from the SSA (later in Feb 2011) and submit to Lisa with items in # 16

 

18 -Proposed schedule - see attachment - Bob H would like to submit to Lisa next week - please advise of any problems
