Meeting Minutes
January 31,2012
The following is a summary of the meeting minutes for the Retirement League meeting held on 1/31/2012 at the Old Bridge Public Library:
To Board and Tuesday Players:
1. Welcome to Bob Carlson, new manager of Dermatology Associates. The goal is to make this team better than last year.
2. The draft resulted in a resonable balance per everyone's input with 16 players on 5 teams and 17 on 1.
3.
A suggestion to have our picnic in mid-season rather
than at end when many players leave early for parts "unknown". This will be discussed further.
4.
Another consideration is expanding to seven 7 teams because of
overfill of pool players. There are 15
players still available. With this in
mind and taking one player from each team and adjusting the pool players is a possible
scenario.
5.
Ratings were discussed at length, but still some managers
feel it is necessary to modify a few. We
can do this forever but we cannot satisfy everyone.
6.
iSince the meeting, a
suggestion was made that we all (100+ players) chip in about $3.00 and purchase
a pitching machine that is currently on sale at Dick's Sporting store (EB). This would be primarily
for practice at
7.
We had a great practice today with more than 12 players. Stay alert for the next one.
