| Supporting winning pitcher Dennis Baker, who threw his best game of the year, were Rich Polonitza (5 RBIs) and Joe Hrubash each with 3 hits, Anthony Abbaleo with 3 RBIs and Rich Conklin who smacked a 2 run home run. | ||||||

| An outstanding pitching performance by Harry Streep who was supported by several outstanding defensive plays by Al Genova and Bill Dugan. For the Roselle offense, Gene Antonucci, Jim McCullough and Bill McNamara led the way while a bad hop three run single by Dennis Valvano broke open a tight game in the late innings. For the Family Men only Harry Semple 3-3 and Tom MacDermant 2-3 were able to etch out a multi-hit game. | ||||||

| Linda’s, jumping out to an early lead, had O’Neil Thomas with 4 hits, while Doc Black, Al Brown, Moe Fernandez and Orlando Lopez had 3 hits each in support of winning pitcher Pat LoPiccolo who pitched another fine game. | ||||||

| The Top Liners, down 7-1 after 2 innings, came back led by winning pitcher Greg Harnett who went 4 for 4. Other big hitters were Tom DeRocco, Dave Ball, Joe Cittadino, Joe Viso and Ron Kulik (2 home runs), all with 3 hits. Awnings smacking out 23 hits, had Neil Granstrand (HR, 3RBI) a perfect 4 for 4 as Tom Breen (RBI) and Frank D'Antico (3BH, 3RBI) chipped in with 3 hits each. Bob Lorincz (2BH, 3BH, 3RBI), Ray Meigs (2RBI), Mike Kovach, Dave Kirsch, Angelo Melillo and Brian Granstrand had 2 hits each. | ||||||

| Down 10 to 2 in the bottom of the 4th inning, Linwood scored 10 runs in the 4th and 5th innings and held VFW to only one more run to take the victory. For the Inn, Mac Kowaleski went 3 for 3, with Steve Lerner, Joe Sarica, Mike DiRienzo, Jack Helfrich, Joe Menza and Tommy Siano adding a pair of hits each. For the VFW, Nick Pace and Bob Ghiretti were both 4 for 5 and Vic Trindade went 3 for 5. | ||||||

| Coming back from a 10-2 deficit, scoring 3 in the 7th to take the lead, AJ held off the Barmen in the bottom of the 7th for the victory. Ed Novy, the winning pitcher, made 4 great defensive plays and had 3 hits including a 2 run homer, while Pat Keenoy (3BH, 3RBI) and Dave Tibbals (2RBI) also banged out 3 hits each. Sun Tavern, with 22 hits, were led by Rich Polonitza, Joe Scarfuto, Pete Osborn and Frank Scarfuto who each had 3 hits. Anthony Abbaleo, Rich Polonitza, Pete Osborn and Bill Moore had 2 RBIs each. | ||||||

| Harry Streep turned in another impressive pitching performance and received offensive support from Gene Antonucci with 3 hits and Pat Mooney who also had 2 RBIs. Multiple hit games were recorded by Ed Mitjans, Jim McCullough, and Jeff Baier. Some fine defensive plays were made by Pete Arteaga and Al Genova. For the Family, pitcher Dennis Vuono pitched a great game and had 2 hits as did Harry Semple. | ||||||

| The Top Liners, with 3 in the 1st and 6 in the 2nd, defeated a tough Awnings team. Pitcher Bob Greco held Awnings to just 2 runs, aided by some fine defensive plays by Greg Hartnett, Tom DeRocco and Lou Collins. Whitey McCormack led the attack with 4 hits while Bob Greco, Ron Kulik, Don Montefusco, Greg Hartnett and Dave Ball each had 3 hits. For Awnings, Neil Granstrand, Tommy Colandro and Mike Kovach each contributed 2 hits. | ||||||

| Linwood, behind 10 to 8 after 4 innings, scored 3 in the 5th and 1 in the 7th while holding the VFW to 1 run in the last 3 innings for the W. For the Inn, Joe Sarica and Mike DiRienzo had 3 hits apiece. Steve Lerner, Jack Helfrich (3RBIs), Jim Sydlo, Pat Enright (HR), Ron Martins and Tommy Siano added a pair of hits each. For the VFW, Bob Ghiretti and Billy Hinkle went 4 for 4, Pete Katula 3 for 4, while Nick Pace drove in 3 runs and John Rubinetti 2. | ||||||

| With 34 hits for the contest, every player on Renda Roads had multiple hits. Marty Marks, Joe DiFabio, John Garced and Steve Toth each had home runs, while perfect 4 for 4 performances were recorded by Dave Lavelle, Nicky Russo and Keith Gibbons. The Lensmen, taking a 5-1 lead in the early innings, powered by a long over 312 foot Kerry Gelb 3 run homer, had Ken Ziegler with 3 hits including a home run, while Gelb, Dave Rothenberg and Bill Kearns chipped in with 2 hits each and Jeff Balish added a clutch bases loaded triple. | ||||||

Sun Tavern pitchers Dennis Baker and Mike Garcia did not walk a batter and were supported by outstanding defensive play by Paul Newton and Anthony Abbaleo, each killing a potential rally by the AJ squad. | ||||||

| Down by a 7 to 3 score, the Legion scored 5 in the 5th to take the lead, fueled by run scoring hits from Ed Kushner, Jeff Baier, Al Genova, and Bill McNamara. After the Road Men came back to retake the lead, Roselle mounted the winning rally in the 7th, sparked by Bill Buteau’s long 2 run homer that scored Ralph Genova who had singled leading off the inning. Consecutive hits were then recorded by Ed Lubas, Al Genova, Ed Kushner, and Jeff Baier with Ed Mitjans contributing a sac fly. Bill McNamara ended the barrage with a two run double for the victory for winning pitcher Harry Streep. For Renda Roads, Joe Massimino homered while Tom Straniero and Tom Baldowski went 3 for 3. | ||||||

| After spotting the Road Men an early 7-1 lead, Bill McNamara doubled with one out in the bottom of the 7th to get the Roselle offense going. Gene Antonucci walked, putting the winning run on base, and Jim McCullough followed with a walk off double for the victory. Supporting winning pitcher Harry Streep were Pete Arteaga and Bill Buteau with run scoring hits and Antonucci with a home run in addition to the timely walk. | ||||||

| Capped by Ron Martins bases loaded double, the Inn broke a 2-2 tie in the 4th frame scoring 6 runs. For Linwood, Jim Sydlo and Jack Helfrich went 3 for 3. Joe Sarica, Pat Enright, Brian Schaefer, Ron Martins, and pitcher Tommy Siano added a pair of hits each. For the Top Liners, Ron Kulik, Tom DeRocco, Whitey McCormack and Bob Greco each had 2 hits. | ||||||

| Top Line, down 9 to 1, scored 5 in the 2nd frame and 3 in the 5th to tie the score at 9. In the top of the 7th, Linwood on 3 hits, a walk and a sac fly scored 2 runs to win the game and the title. For the Inn, Joe Sarica had 3 hits while Steve Lerner, Mike DiRienzo, Ron Martins and Stu Lukowiak contributed 2 hits apiece. Jack Helfrich with a key double and a sac fly drove in three runs as pitcher Tom Siano limited Top Line to scoring in only 3 innings. For Top Line, Whitey McCormack had 3 hits with Ron Kulik, Don Montefusco, Tom DeRocco, Joe Cittadino and pitcher Bob Greco contributing 2 hits each. | ||||||

| In a wild game that had Sun Tavern jumping out to a 11-2 lead, followed by a Linda’s comeback to take the lead 15-11, then Sun tied the game up at 15, only to have Linda’s score 8 runs in the 7th to take the victory. Sun Tavern, pounding out 21 hits, had Paul Newton, Joe Hrubash and Jim Price with 3 hits apiece. Pete Osborn, Rich Conklin, Dennis Baker and Paul Newton each had 2 RBIs. | ||||||
