60’s Division
First Round for Week of August 9, 2015
Awnings Galore II 5, Robin's Nest 3
Tom Pasko and Harry Streep locked up in a pitchers' duel in the first game of the A Division semifinals.  Robin's Nest scored 2 in the first, Awnings tied the game with 2 in the third, otherwise Pasko and Streep kept runs off the scoreboard until Pasko led off the bottom of the 6th with a home run and Bobby Rahnenfuhrer tripled as Awnings took a three run lead. The Nesters pushed across a single run in the top of the 7th but could get no closer.  Bobby Lorincz, Ray Meigs, Wayne Michael and Rahnenfuhrer all were 2 for 2 at the plate for AG2.
Awnings Galore II 25, Robin's Nest 2
AG2 erupted for 25 runs, while holding RN to two second inning runs, in sweeping the A Division semifinal series. For Awnings, Bob Lorincz (3R, 2RBI) and Rich Polonitza (R, 4RBI), were both a perfect 4 for 4 with a triple.  Neil Granstrand (2R, 2RBI), Wally Dusko (R, 4RBI), Tom Colandro (2BH, 3R, RBI), Rich Grossberg (HR, 2R, 3RBI) and Bruce Symon (3R, 2RBI) each had 3 hits, and Rich Traub (2R, RBI) added a home run and a double.  Awnings Galore wins the series 2-0, advancing to the A Division Finals.
Creative Industries I 14, Kilkenny House 2
Creative Industries I won the first game of the semifinals led by pitcher Al Betau who was perfect at the plate with 3 hits. The offense was also led by Dana Kimmel, Tom Straniero, Joe DePierro, Dennis Mosier and Brian Williams with two hits each.
Creative Industries I 16, Kilkenny House 4
Al Betau pitched and hit Creative Industries I to victory over Kilkenny with 3 hits. Dennis Mosier also had 3 hits, and Tom Straniero, Gary Pence, Geoff Polston and Joe DePierro each added two hits.  Creative wins the semifinal series 2-0 and advances to the A Division finals.
Avengers 11, The Office 9
The Avengers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning.  A four-run third inning by The Office put the barmen up 8-4.  The Avengers chipped away at that deficit and scored four in the top of the fifth to tie the game at 9-9.  The Avengers scored single runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to take an 11-9 lead. Ahead by two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, two excellent catches -- one in deep center field by Chris Black, the other by mid-fielder Richie Krov going into short center field and making an over the shoulder catch sealed the victory.  For the Avengers, Anthony Abbaleo, Doc Henley Black, Richie Krov, Chris Black and John Tomaine had a pair of hits each. On the mound Pat LoPiccolo and Alan Schachman shut the Office offense down and allowed only one run after the third inning.  Leading The Office with three hits was Mike Volpe (3BH, 3 RBI).  Bill Early (2BH, HR, 2R, 3 RBI), Charlie Wischusen (2BH, 2R, 2 RBI), Tom McNulty (2R, RBI), Gary Schaller (R) and Lou Koehler (2BH, R) added two hits each.
The Office 18, Avengers 15
The Office, facing elimination from the B Division playoffs, rallied with three runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat The Avengers 18-15 to even the series at 1-1.  In an early slugfest, the Avengers held a 12-11 lead after three innings. The Office scored one run over the next two innings but the Avengers added two more runs to hang on to a 14-12 lead at the end of five innings. In the top of the sixth, The Office tied the score on Bill Hinkle's two-run single and took the lead at 15-14 on Lou Koehler's base hit.  Tied at 15 all in the top of the seventh, singles by John Psotto, Gary Schaller, Bill Early, Charlie Wischusen and Gerard McDermott plated three Office runs.  Leading The Office with three hits each were Gary Schaller (3R), Bill Early (2R, 3RBI), Gerard McDermott (2BH, 2R, 4RBI), Bill Hinkle (2R, 3RBI) and Joe Mitarotonda (R).  For the Avengers, Joe Brown and Phil Fink each went 3 for 3. Pat Sarullo, Bill Moore, Henley Doc Black, Dave Goodman, John Tomaine, and Alan Schachman had two hits each. Robert Maley's bases loaded double drove in three runs.  This B Division semifinal series is tied 1-1.
